AIR QUALITY SURVEY

Our indoor air quality surveys are conducted by a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). The survey includes assessing for fresh air, HVAC, drafts, temperature, relative humidity, mold, dust, odour, carbon monoxide and TVOC (toxic volatile organic compound). Survey data is presented to you in a report with results, conclusions, and recommendations.

NOISE SURVEY

Our company has performed numerous noise studies and we use the latest electronic survey equipment to collect data. There are two basic types of surveys that can be performed: a noise level survey and a noise exposure survey. Quite often both types of surveys are done in conjunction with each other. If you have never had a noise level survey done before then you may want a “Baseline” study done so that you know where your company stands.

DESIGNATED SUBSTANCE ASSESSMENT

A company requires a “Designated Substance Assessment” when one of the twelve designated substances is used at a workplace. The purpose of the assessment is to determine if employees are exposed to the designated substance and whether their health may be adversely affected.

An assessment involves a review of safety data sheets (SDS) and processes to determine what level of exposure could occur. Assessments often involve some exposure monitoring to get a better idea of the exposure levels present. Once the assessment is complete, a formal report is prepared with recommendations and conclusions.

VENTILATION SURVEY

GTA Environmental offers a wide range of ventilation services which includes the following:

Face velocity measurements (fpm)
Air duct velocity measurements (fpm)
Air volume flow measurements (cfm)
Smoke tests for flow pattern
Pressure drop measurements
Dust collection efficiency measurements
Design change recommendations

CHEMICAL EXPOSURE MONITORING

GTA Environmental has conducted hundreds of monitoring surveys for industrial, commercial and institutional facilities. The two basic types of survey data include personal exposure samples and area samples. Personal exposure monitoring involves placing air sampling equipment on people while they do their work. Area monitoring involves collecting air samples in the immediate vicinity of the workers. Sample duration can range from all-day to instantaneous depending on the survey purpose.
